web-based email, discussion board and chat service for friends and
fans of fair trade! By using this service, you help spread the good
word with every email. Why join? Well, the service is:
- Free GoFairTrade Mail is a full-feature free
e-mail service. We provide you with a whopping 6 megs of space. And
since we are new, plenty of short names are available in the format
yourname@gofairtrade.net
.
- Globally Accessible Send/receive mail from any
computer with any browser anywhere in the world, just like
hot-you-know-who and ya-whatever...
- Permanent Your account and e-mail addresses are
yours forever. Reserve your short, simple addresses today. Many short simple names are still available.
- Private Your private e-mail will be protected from
your employer and others - only you can read it. We will never give or sell your name to others. As administers of the service, we cannot view your mail. Our only control over your account is our ability to delete it if we determine that you are abusing the account by sending SPAM through it.
- SPAM-Free Our service uses the latest technology to
block SPAM before it can reach your mail box. The only spam-like mail that you should receive is an occasional announcement from us.
- Versatile Our e-mail feature includes attachment
capabilities so you can send images, photo, or documents. You can easily check your POP mail accounts by setting up proper instructions in the Options area.
Drawbacks? There are a few but these are no different than any other free email service. You will see banners at the top of the page each time you check email. Half of these we cannot control, half will advertise Cafe Campesino or other fair trade internet sites. Also, you must remain logged into the internet while you check mail - just like other free web-based services. At this time, you cannot automatically transfer mail from this account into your POP mailbox - but you can receive a notification in your POP mailbox that you have new mail in your gofairtrade.net mailbox. This convenient feature and many others are found under "Options" once you set up your account
A final note, if would like to proceed and set up your account, simply click the Sign Up Now link at the top of the page. You will then see a user-agreement that you must approve. Then you must fill in a form which will ask for your name, address and other relevant information. Some of this is optional. Mandatory items are noted by an * . You can optionally sign up for several other email notification services. Feel free to decline all of these.
